A Win/Win Way to Donate to a Charity
June 23, 2024

Are you 70.5 years of age? Do you have an IRA?

If so, you can make use of a qualified charitable distribution (QCD).

With QCD you can donate up to $105,000 directly from an IRA to a charity without getting taxed on the distribution (win for you, and a win for the charity).

When you reach the age, you must take money from your IRA, a QCD can be used to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution up to the QCD limit of $150,000.

The charity must qualify as a 501(c)(3). If interested talk to your financial advisor or your tax professional.
