Trinity Metropolitan Community Church of Gainesville (Trinity MCC)

February 2010 - The Transition Team has completed its preliminary work and 35 members of the church (more than 50%) participated in Big Dream Day. A Specially Called Congregational Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, February 28, following the morning worship service. During that meeting the church will vote to approve its Mission Statement, Vision Statement and By-law Changes. 3 members will also be elected to join the Board of Directors as Pastoral Search Team for the purpose of presenting a candidate for Senior Pastor of Trinity MCC. In July 2009, The Reverend Jim Merritt came as Provisional Pastor of Trinity MCC. The church is actively engaged in the transision process during which we are working on our Mission Statement, Vision Statement, By-laws and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's). Members of the Transition Team are leading each work area and preparing for the Big Dream Day, which is scheduled for February 6, 2010. When all our documents are in order, the congregation will elect the Pastoral Search Team. That team will develop the necessary documents to complete a pastoral search. The church hopes to have all it's tranisitional tasks completed proir to June, 2010.
